Another day another Rottweiler vs Chihuahua beef in the rap game.

Don’t mess with daddy’s girl!!
Machine Gun Kelly(Left) Vs Eminem(Right)

Want to poke the bear out of hibernation? Then speak on that very bear’s child.

Just ask Nicki Minaj. Or Machine Gun Kelly.

Whatever happened to people’s children being off limits?

What started off as a not-so innocent tweet six years ago by 28-year-old Houston, Texas rapper Machine Gun Kelly, admiring 22-year-old Hailie Jade daughter of rap mogul Eminem. The tweet has spiralled into the latest words of war in the Hip-hop rap scene. Whether you are a fan of Eminem or not, his 2005 hit single ‘Mockingbird’ and large tattoo on his right arm with Hailie’s face, makes it more than clear that the rapper does not play when it comes to his baby girl.

Don't mess with daddy's baby girl!!

Machine Gun Kelly finally broke his silence on the on-going beef with the self-proclaimed ‘Rap God’ in a recent radio interview with The Breakfast Club hosted by the trusted trio of DJ Envy, Charlamagne tha God, and Angela Yee.

The rapper admitted that he anticipated the record the diss record ‘Not A Like’ on the Eminem’s latest album Kamikaze 6 years ago when the tweet was first published not many years later.

Machine Gun Kelly, or MGK as he is affectionately known, stated in the interview that as far as he was concerned, the situation was dealt with back then behind the scenes. As a father to a 9-year-old child, himself, MGK said that he empathises with Eminem’s frustration over the tweet, and admits to his wrong-doing. He refuses to apologise publicly, but he has since taken the tweet down.

Did that stop things from escalating…?

Nope, you guessed it!!! Machine Gun Kelly got blacklisted!!!

The two rappers share the same record label: Interscope. So whose side do you think the label would be on?

Yes, of course, the rapper who has made the company millions and millions of dollars and has been loyal to the label throughout the years, Eminem. MGK has in turn accused Interscope employees of acting ‘fishy’ towards him, and he was also banned from Shade45 – Eminem’s own radio show. The fact that MGK was beefing YelaWolf at the time who is also signed to Interscope under Shady Records did not help the situation. If anything, it caused further division between those on the Interscope pay roll and those who were team Eminem and team MGK.

In the Breakfast Club interview, MGK criticises Eminem’s subsequent fall-out interview in response to the ‘Rap Devil’ diss track – ridiculing it as a ‘safe’ interview for the Detroit rapper. Which is understandable, with Eminem not often being one for entertaining interviews in such a fashion. However, the same could be said for MGK.

The streets have been gossiping and creating conspiracy theories about the fact that music producer, Ronny J was credited for his producing talents on the MGK ‘Rap Devil’ diss track, as well as Eminem’s ‘Not A Like’ record from his recent ‘Kamikaze’ album. Which the rapper took to his Instagram to take shot at Eminem and make it known that Rap Devil reached number 1.

Machine Gun Kelly goes on to claiming his accolades noting his career was popping before the rap beef. The rapper’s song Bad Things Ft Camila Cabello peaked at number 4 on Billboards top 100 charts.

The buzz from his beef with Eminem has not validated or heightened his success as a rapper, in the interview the rapper claimed to have already sold 20 million records prior to the war of words.

But you know we do our homework over here, the narrative that he has sold 20 million records is FALSE!! According to RIAA.com the MGK has only sold 7.5million records and albums combined, which is still a well-respected figure, but only 37.5% of the 20 million records he claimed.

MGK stands by his track Rap Devil he noted, he stated facts on the record whilst Eminem’s track was “trash and spoke on irrelevant things” said MGK. MGK addressed being called a mumble rapper by Em. Which is a course of action we can advocate for, as MGK is certainly not a mumble rapper. Eminem calling him one just made the rap legend look old and out of touch with the newer generation.

Beef between artists in the music industry is common and can easily turn left. It could provide a platform for notoriety and publicity, or could prove to be the downfall of one’s career into obscurity. Just tweet Chihuahua Keri Hilson and ask her want happened to her career when she dissed RottweilerBeyoncé in her Turn My Swag on Remix. 50 Cent, the Chihuahua at the time, started off his career by tearing down the whole Murder Ink empire associated with Rottweiler Ja Rule.

Feuds between artist are very common in the music industry, do you think Eminem was right for blacklisting MGK, if you speak on someone’s family in an inappropriate matter there are consequences. Or was MGK tweet innocent he apologised and Eminem is being petty by continuing the beef 6 years later. This is an open dissuasion Tweet me your thoughts at @tunilalves.
